Two men accused of producing fake money in Yei River County have been remanded, as they wait for trial.

The unnamed men have been in police custody since their arrest last week.

Police say the men have circulated more than 150,000 pounds of fake money.

“This is a dangerous case to us a new country,” said Jeremiah Maker, Chief Inspector. “Within the week, we shall send them to the court for trial on their issue.”

They were arrested in a hotel in Yei town last evening. Both suspects are foreigners.

One man is from the Democratic Republic of Congo and the other, Central African Republic.

The trial date is yet to be announced by the court.
