5 Former political detainees leaders arrive in Juba

The first team of the former political detainees has arrived in the country.

This follows the recent continuation of the meeting in Pretoria, South Africa, to reunify the party.

The team, led by Deng Alor Kuol, includes John Luk Jok, Cirino Hiteng, Kosti Manibe and Madut Biar.

They are accompanied by the South African Vice President, Cyril Ramaphosa and the Secretary General of the Tanzania’s ruling party, Chama Cha Mapenduzi, Abdurahman Kenana.

Foreign ministers, Tedros Adhanom of Ethiopia, and Amina Muhammad of Kenya are reportedly part of the delegation.

The group will remain in South Sudan for the implementation of the SPLM reunification agreement.
