Security chief asked to fix plates on their vehicles

A member of the Council of States has urged the Minister of Security in the Office of the President to order security personnel to fix number plates on their vehicles.

Canon Clement Janda says this will distinguish them from criminals.

He said security personnel can use the same number plates as the ordinary ones, but with a slight difference.

“A lot of security departments moved in unnumbered vehicles,” he said. “Now, unknown gunmen are also removing their plates and they move around pretending as part of the security.”

“Please I want to plead to my brother the minister of security: let all the security cars be numbered.”

For his part, the Minister of Security, Isaac Mamur, said he has ordered his personnel not to drive unnumbered vehicles.

“I have received all these reports long time ago and I have given orders that anybody moving with unnumbered vehicle must be arrested.”

Mamur said anybody moving with unnumbered vehicle is a criminal.
