The United Nations says 4,500 people displaced recently from various parts of Upper Nile State have sought refuge at its camp in Malakal.

UN Spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric says this brings the total number of civilians at the site close to 26,000.

She says this is the highest number of displaced people at the camp since the beginning of the current conflict in December 2013.

Dujarric says other humanitarian partners have reported displacements in other parts of the country, including 31,000 in Jonglei State.
