The advance team of the Former Political Detainees is leaving Juba today to meet with the leader of the SPLM in Opposition Dr. Riek Machar.

The group has been in the country since Monday. They held a meeting with the SPLM in Juba, chaired by Salva Kiir, and resolved that the conflict in the country can only be resolved peacefully.

John Luk Jok, spokesperson of the group, says they will meet with Dr. Riek Machar to continue with intra-party dialogue to unite the party and bring peace.

“We have a team that also will proceed to meet Dr. Riek Machar wherever he is,” Mr Luk told reporters.

The team includes Deng Alor Kuol, John Luk Jok, Cirino Hiteng, Kosti Manibe and Madut Biar.
