Redeployed soldiers face challenges

The Civil society activists say the situation of the SPLA soldiers who have been redeployed 25 kilometers outside Juba is challenging.

The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization says the soldiers do not have enough water, food, shelter and medical services.

CEPO’s executive director, Edmond Yakani, made the statement this afternoon during a visit to the SPLA soldiers in Nesitu area. Religious leaders and SPLA military officials took part in the trip.

CEPO and the religious leaders promised to mobilize assistance for the soldiers.

During the visit, the SPLA spokesperson urged the activists and religious groups to keep their promise to mobilize assistance for the soldiers; he expressed the commitment of the SPLA leadership to fully implement the transitional security arrangements.
