The Legislative Council of Yei River County in Central Equatoria State has passed a resolution to establish technical schools in the area.

The deputy speaker, Peter Maru, says the schools would equip students with practical skills for development.

He said: “The world is now gearing towards technology. If we don’t prepare our children to cope up with this technology we shall be lagging behind and we shall continue to lose and lose because we shall be borrowing from outside.”

“We have a lot of things like architectures, engineering and mechanics which we all depend on foreigners as of now”

The recommendation will be taken to the executive for action.
