Peace negotiators in Addis Ababa

Author : | Published: Monday, June 8, 2015

Negotiators from the government and the SPLM in Opposition are in Addis Ababa to consult on the peace process.

“IGAD officials say the parties are expected to discuss how the Arusha Agreement on the reunification of the SPLM could be used to improve the peace process,” reported Eye Radio’s Addis Ababa-based Correspondent Michael Minassie.

Nhial Deng Nhial is leading the government team while Taban Deng Gai is leading the delegation of the SPLM in Opposition.

IGAD says the consultations will last three days.

The last round of talks ended in March without any agreement on the contentious issues, including power sharing, the reintegration of the army and the system of governance during the transitional period.
