The test result of a man who died in Juba after presenting Ebola Virus-like signs and symptoms has proved negative for the disease, according to health authorities.

The unnamed 35-year-old man was a resident of Gumbo-Shirikat.

He vomited blood with some oozing from his nose while suffering from general body weakness and chest pain.

According to Thursday’s statement by the Ministry of Health, the deceased man had a recent history of travel to Uganda in the last 14 days.

However, speaking to Eye Radio Friday afternoon, the Director-General of Juba Teaching hospital Antony Lupai said the deceased man tested negative for the virus.

“We are happy that the result has tested negative,” he confirmed to Eye Radio.

Lupai has called on the public to remain vigilant of the virus.

“This result has given a real assurance that now we don’t have anything that is proven to be positive but that has not taken out our vigilance. People are still going to be vigilant”
