Jonglei State Minister of Finance Dhano Obongo has been fired by the state Care-taker Governor, John Koang.

Mr Dhano served in this position since last year. In April, the governor formed a committee to investigate the performance of the ministry under Dhano.

The Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Nyang Lul, headed the investigation. He is yet to release the report.

However, the State Minister of Information, Jodi Jonglei, told Eye Radio that the sacking is not related to investigation.

“I cannot actually tell you exactly why he was relieve from his position but what I know so far is a normal practices of the governor,” Mr Jonglei said.

No replacement has been named for the position. Mr Jodi says a new minister will be appointed after consultations with the people.
