Fuel scarcity hits WES

Author : | Published: September 11, 2014

There is a shortage of fuel in Western Equatoria, the state minister of information has said.

Charles Kisanga says the shortage has been caused by heavy rains that have left trucks carrying fuel stuck on the roads.

He told Eye Radio’s Sundown program that businesses and movement of people to and from the state have been affected.

“More than 300 trucks are stranded on the roads because of the heavy rains,” he said.

Mr. Kisanga said that prices of goods are likely to rise if fuel is not provided in Yambio.

Most roads in the country become impassable during rainy season.
