The Egyptian government has expressed interest in sending troops to South Sudan.

Egypt Interim President met South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Barnaba Marial last week in Cairo.

Dr. Marial told Eye Radio today that the Egyptian troops will be sent through the UN Peacekeeping mission.

“What president Mansour said is that Egypt will be willing also to contribute to the United Nations to be deployed in South Sudan like any others country,” he said.

Last week, Dr. Barnaba Marial represented South Sudan for the first time in the Arab League Summit in Cairo.
