Many vehicles are stranded on the road that links Yei town with Maridi due to heavy rains that made the road impassible.

Potholes on the road have worsened the situation. It has left many business trucks on a stand-by.

The boma executive Chief of Logo area, Agele John Modi, told Eye Radio that they have mobilized the community to repair the road.

“We have mobilized ourselves so that we can dig channels for the water to flow away and also collect some stones to place on the deep spots so that trucks can move easily,” said Chief Modi.

“We are also calling on our national novernment to support us because this road is a national road that goes up to Wau and up to Khartoum.”

Speaking at the scene, Yei River County Commissioner, Juma David Augustine, said the local government is committed to work on the status the road.

Yei-Maridi road is a national road that links Central Equatoria State with Western Equatoria, and Western Bahr El-Ghazal State.
