3 police officers have been arrested for randomly shooting into the air in Yambio market yesterday.

The officers were protesting delay of their salaries.

The Deputy Governor of Western Equatoria state, Sapana Abui, told Eye Radio’s Dawn Program that some of the officers who were shooting in the air have not been arrested.

“Some policemen who are not happy about the delay of their salaries went to the market at night and shot into the air,” Mr Abui explained.

“Investigations are still going on to apprehend any other member that must have been involved in that kind of disrespect and shooting.”

On Wednesday armed robbers attempted to break into the Kenyan Commercial Bank in Yambio.

The incident happened after some members of the organized forces learnt that they were to receive one month salary, instead of a 4 month salary.
