The Minister of Information in Upper Nile State says at least 9 people are feared dead in a clash between two communities in Akoka County yesterday.
Peter Hoth says the fighting initially was between youth groups, but members of the SPLA took sides, leading to a random exchange of gunfire.
He told Eye Radio that the casualty figures are yet to be confirmed. The cause of the fighting has not been established.
