3 arrested in possession of fire arms & ammunition

Three civilians have been arrested in possession of fire arms and bullets in Yambio Western Equatoria state last night, says the County Commissioner.

They were among 13 people found on the streets during curfew hours imposed on residents last week, after unidentified gunmen shot a man dead around Timbiro, an area around the town.

Commissioner Enocka says the three men are in police custody and undergoing investigations.

“Until yesterday 13 were arrested and 10 were released, except the 3 whose cases are connected to guns and bullets”

“They are still under the government hands and for further investigations, because I don’t see the reason why a civilian during night times is having bullets in his pockets and handling guns,” he said, adding that the captives also violated the10p.m to 6a.m curfew.

“That means these are the types of people who are criminals. ”

Mr. Enocka says situation in Yambio has remained tense.

He said a motorcyclist was shot dead by gunmen last night causing panic to residents.
