The Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare in Central Equatoria State says more than 2,000 people with disabilities have been registered in the state.
This comes as South Sudan joins the rest of the World in celebrating the International Day for Persons with Disabilities.
Mary Apai told Eye Radio that the government is working together with partners to support persons with disabilities in the state.
“We help the disabled with training. I have trained them more than four times. Secondly we employ some of them. There are people with disabilities who have certificates and they don’t have jobs and we are still facilitating them.”
The theme for this year’s celebration is: “We want peace”.
