In Wulu County, five schools that were closed down 7 years ago due to communal conflicts will be re-opened soon.

The County Education Director, William Koji, says the school premises were used to accommodate IDPs from the neighboring Rumbek East County.

Mr Koji says a large number of the IDPs have started returning to their homes after a peace agreement that was signed to bring the communities together.

“As soon as possible, we will reopen those primary schools, which are about 38,” Mr told Eye Radio.

The communities in Rumbek East agreed early this year to end their deadly conflicts over cattle and bride wealth and live together peacefully.
