A 27-year-old woman was killed by gunmen in a road ambush along Kuajok and Gogrial East County, the Warrap information minister has said.

the state Information minister, William Wol Mayom says the incident happened on Christmas Eve in a place called Rakbet which is situated between Kuajok and Buoyar of Gogrial East County.

the victim who was identified as Alat Aten Kuei was a boda-boda when they were attacked.

Wol told Eye Radio, that the lady who was a graduate of Mary College in Kwajok fell into the bush before she was shot by the armed men.

But the rider managed to escape from the attack.

“It was at 7 PM on Christmas day when a lady called Alat Aten Kuei, a graduate of Mary College 2022 left Kuajok town on a motorbike, there is a place called Ralbet, she fell into an ambush and she was shot dead by the suspected armed youth from Jur River,” said Minister Wol.

For his part, the Spokesperson of Western Bahr El Ghazal State Samuel Nicola said he was yet to get a report about the incident and whether youth from the state were involved.

“I don’t have this information, and I’m not sure whether is true or not, I didn’t hear anything of this incident. Normally for security issues, unless I’m briefed then I will be able to talk about it because is not good to give information that is not reliable and accurate,” Samuel said.
