Six people suspected of killing Wau Paramount Chief have been arrested, according to Western Bahr el Ghazal state officials.

Angelo Bagari and his wife were shot dead more than a week ago. He was killed days after he took oath of office for a new term.

The commissioner, Elia Kamilio Dimo, says one of the unnamed suspects was convicted for burning a commercial truck during the violence that occurred in Wau in December 2012.

Mr Kamilio says the former convict is also believed to be the one who fired the gunshots that killed the chief.

“We have information about the place that the murderer went and took shower because in our customs, when you kill someone they will take you to shower with tree called “Jal’,” Mr Kamilio explained.

Mr Kamilio says the investigation committee is working with the Criminal Investigation Department to conclude the enquiry into the killing.
