Warring parties violated COH 31 times within 9 days – IGAD

IGAD has released a report showing 31 occasions of violations of the cessation of Hostilities Agreement by the warring parties within the last nine days.

This latest report by the Monitoring and Verification Mechanism said that 19 of the violations were made by the Government forces while the remaining 16 violations were committed by the S-P-L-M/S-P-L-A In Opposition.

The report says some of the incidents include violations by both Parties at the same time.

It says more than 50% of the violations involved civilians.

The Cessation of Hostilities Agreement was signed in January last year.
