Upper Nile shuts down state parliament….

Upper Nile state Legislative assembly has been closed down again, according to an official in Upper Nile state.

“The deputy governor of Upper Nile state closed the assembly last week,” said Juliano Nyawelo Dak, the leader of Minority in the state.

The deputy governor is said to have accused other political parties of nominating the elected deputy speaker and causing insecurity.

“What actually happened is that we were trying to remove the deputy speaker for so many reasons,” he narrated, “and this thing was done according to the conduct of business and the constitution.”

“After the voting was made, the processed was done as it is; but the deputy governor just appeared and said he was going to close the assembly until the governor come.

“He was accusing other parties to have participated in the nomination of the elected.

“This is not the first time for the executives to interfere with the affairs of the assembly.”

Hon. Juliano said what they were doing is legal processes according to conduct of business and the constitution of the Republic of South Sudan.
