Sudanese team in Juba to discuss oil deal

A delegation of senior Sudanese government officials is in Juba to discuss implementation of the cooperation agreements.

The Sudanese Minister of Petroleum, Makawi Mohamed, is leading the team to meet his South Sudan counterpart to discuss the oil flow.

“We will be talking of the continuation and in particular the consultation on how to implement and to promote the corporation agreement signed between the two countries in September 2012,” said Stephen Dhieu Dau, South Sudan’s Minister of Petroleum and Mining.

The government said last month that it may renegotiate the amount it is paying to Sudan as financial compensation for the separation of South Sudan.
