Work has come to a standstill at Jonglei State ministry of information due to lack of electricity, say authorities in the state.

They say there has been no power supply since they ran out of fuel 3 months ago.

The state Information Minister, Mr. Akech Deng told Eye Radio the ministry is now processing its documents at other government institutions.

“In my ministry the electricity is not there but more than that we are doing what we can,” he said.
“If I go to local government office I can print my documents from there or if I go to cabinet affairs or deputy governor’s office and they have power I can print from there.”

However, Mr Deng could not explain why his ministry is the only one in the Jonglei state government experiencing fuel shortage.
