The SPLA Spokesperson says it is investigating a fight between cattle keepers and soldiers in Kuda in Juba County over the weekend.

Colonel Philip Aguer says the clash erupted after the herders attacked forces deployed in the area.

He says it resulted to the death of 12 people from both sides.

Colonel Aguer says additional forces have been deployed in the area to maintain security.

“the youth of the cattle camp retaliated and attacked SPLA force in a place called Kuda on the 11th. And this is what happened. They were repulsed and unfortunately in that clash on both side, 12 people died according to the report. We are waiting to the clear report of the incident.”

He says the situation in the area is now calm.
