Wau town court sentences criminals

A court in Wau Town, Western Bahr Al Ghazal State  has sentenced criminals accused of robbery to between six months and one year in prison.

They are among the thirty convicts charged for rape, murder and night robbery.

The Deputy Mayor of Wau Municipality, Santino Manut says those sentenced to imprisonment were unarmed.

“The night patrols have arrested almost 28 people, and everybody who was caught moving around 12 or 1 or 3am at night will be prosecuted in the local court if they are stolen without arms or (Unarmed robbery). But those who were looted people with guns, and these who raped girls in the town will be transferred to the high court in the state,” he said.

Mr. Manut says the trial of the other armed criminals will begin after the investigations.
