South Sudan names its first ambassador to Israel

The government has appointed the country’s first Ambassador to Israel and a new Ambassador to Italy.

Ambassador Rubben Marial Benjamin will represent South Sudan in the Jewish state.

“Ambassador Ajing Adiang Marik is going to be South Sudan Ambassador to Italy,” said Amb Makol.

In 2011, South Sudan announced that it intended to have full diplomatic relation with Israel.

The Spokesman at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mawien Makol, says his Ministry has received acceptance from Israel and Italy.

In July, Israel announced that it had established full diplomatic ties with South Sudan.
