A police officer in Nagero County in Gbudwe State has been killed over an affair with the wife of an SPLA soldier.

The soldier found the officer in his house on Friday evening and immediately shot dead the man only identified as Ndewingo.

“He tried to ask him what took him there, and then when the policeman tried to explain, immediately the guy started shooting him,” Alex Digi, spokesperson of Nagero County commissioner, confirmed to Eye Radio.

State officials say the security agents are now trying to tell community members to remain calm after tensions following the killing.
