A man accused of defiling a child three weeks ago is hiding in Juba, but the county police have not taken any action, Yei River County Councilors have said.

The seven year old child has been discharged after receiving treatment at Yei Civil Hospital.

A Quarter Council chairperson in Yei, Alfred Sebit says he knows where the unnamed man is hiding in Juba.

“He is relaxing in his aunt’s house in Juba,” Mr Sebit told Eye Radio. “If we are given arrest warrant from the police and the budget, I will send the police to bring him from Juba.”

Civil society activists and women in Yei are demanding justice for the child.
