Aweil fire outbreak: Property worth 200,000 pounds destroyed

An assessment of the damages caused by fire in Aweil last Sunday has found that property worth more than 200,000 were destroyed at a suburb in the town.

These include a cash of more than 100,000 pounds, two cars and two fridges. More than 70 huts, several beds, 12 television screens and chairs were burnt.

The Mayor of Aweil Town, Jackline Nyibol says several people were also left homeless when their houses were set a blaze.

Ms. Nyibol says the Deputy Minister of Interior has donated 50,000 South Sudanese pounds to assist the affected people.

The fire started from shop and spread throughout the suburb.
