Nimule-Juba accident death toll shoots

As details emerge from the road accident along the Juba-Nimule road yesterday, health officials say that five of the deceased were South Sudanese.

The officials say that 28 others were Ugandans, bring the death toll from the accident to 33.

The accident happened when a Bakulu bus collided with a trailer near Nesitu in Juba County.

The Director of the Juba Teaching Hospital, Dr Wani Lolik, says the number of dead rose last evening when dead bodies and the wounded were taken to the hospital.

He told Eye Radio that four of the wounded are in stable condition and are receiving treatment at the hospital.

“…the number increased to 33 people, 5 out of them were South Sudanese and 28 foreigners. When I came this morning to review I found there is one pregnant woman was among those injured on that bus”, said Lolik.

Police told Eye Radio that the trailer was on a wrong hand side.
