The Governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state, Akot Deng Akot, relieved his entire cabinet including four County Commissioners in a gubernatorial decree on Thursday.

They include 14 ministers, 8 advisors to the head of commissions, and four commissioners out of five.

He appointed Deng Deng Akuei as his deputy, but did not name new replacements for the commissioners.

“There was only one commissioner who was not relieved. In his decree, he only appointed the deputy governor and the replacements of the rest of the positions have not yet been declared,” “reported Abraham Agoth, Eye Radio Correspondent in Aweil.

Deng Akuei is a Member of Parliament in the State Legislative assembly. The gubernatorial decree took immediate effect after it was issued.
