Moroccan Sidi Mohamed appointed as women’s football coach

SSFA signs a two-year contract with Sidi Mohamed, the new head coach for the Women's National Team. (SSFA).

South Sudan Football Association has appointed a Moroccan national Sidi Mohamed Karewan as the new Women’s National Football Team head coach on a two-year contract.

The national football governing body confirmed the agreement of Mr. Mohamed as the new head coach for the Bright Starlets.

The veteran coach will oversee the South Sudan Women’s Senior National Team, already currently in Cairo for their two-leg match against Egypt in the first round of the Women’s African Cup of Nations Qualification.

Mr.Sidi will replace South African Coach Ms. Shellin Booysen.

The head of the National Teams Committee Mr. Micheal Daniel Marjan has described the move as a big step towards the development of women’s football in the country.

Micheal said the Moroccan coach will manage all women’s national teams at different levels and age groups.

He said the decision to sign Sidi Mohamed is based on the outcome of the results achieved by Moroccan football and the enormous development of Moroccan football at the continental level.

On his part, Mr. Mohamed assured me of his readiness and commitment to deliver the best of his effort to build a much stronger team.

While appreciating the opportunity, Mohamed said he would utilize this opportunity to achieve the goals and the mission of SSFA.
