Manyo in dire need of medical supplies

The Commissioner of Manyo County in Upper Nile State is urging humanitarian agencies to help rescue the situation in the County.

Rajab Deng Ajak says health facilities in the area have no essential drugs, and that they lack medical equipment.

Speaking to Eye Radio’s Dawn program this morning, Mr. Ajak said cases of malaria are on the rise in the county.

“We visited the hospital and honestly, people are suffering,” he said.

“There are also food shortages in some areas. And there are suspected cases of cholera as there are people who have some symptoms of cholera.

“We are calling for urgent supply, and we are talking to humanitarian organizations to intervene and rescue the situation in the county.”

Mr. Deng Ajak also said many people in the area have no food.
