Kenyan Presidential Envoy to the Republic of South Sudan is urging the leaders to ensure that they work for a better future for the next generation.

The ongoing violence which came about as a result of SPLM internal rifts has crippled development of the young nation.

Recently during a one-on-one meeting convened by Tanzanian ruling party, President Kiir and SPLM-IO leader Dr Riek took the blame for the crisis.

“If at any time we feel tempted to be driven by our personal interests, please ask yourselves a simple question; ‘what is it that my leadership will contribute to the next generation?’” Dalmas Otieno told the participants of the 4TH Governors’ Forum in Juba yesterday.

“If you are not adding any value to the next generation, whether you as a leader of your clan ,whether you as a leader of your county or Boma, whether you as a leader of your state or whether you as a minister in the state or any leader in the national level – If your contribution is not adding any value to the next generation, then you should just leave leadership to those who are serious enough to contribute something to the next generation, and you resort to your own home.

“Leave leadership to people who mind about the future generation.”

Mr. Otieno urged the people of South Sudan to work together in order to bring lasting peace to their country.
