Lasu residents urge roads ministry to build development projects

Residents of Lasu Payam in Yei River County have called on the Ministry of Roads and Bridges to start development projects.

The Chairperson of Lasu road management committee, Alex Ade, says the ministry had promised to construct a market centre and rehabilitate a secondary school in the area.

The ministry agreed to these benefits for using local resources such as sand for the construction of a 48 km road from Yei to the border with Congo.

Mr. Ade says the promised projects have not been implemented yet.

“We have talked about this issue long time ago that before the year comes to an end, we need these projects completed,” he told Eye Radio.

“But up to now, nothing has started. We also need to know how much budget has been allocated for these projects.”
