The UN Mission in South Sudan says UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon will arrive in Juba tomorrow.

The visit comes days after civilians were killed at the UN camp in Malakal and amid concerns about the slow implementation of the peace agreement.

UNMISS Spokesperson Ariane Quentier says the Secretary-General will hold several meetings with different officials during the visit.

“The Secretary-General is expected to meet with the president of South Sudan, with representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, as well as NGOs and the community leaders from the Juba Protection of civilian’s sites,” Ms Quentier said.

Mr Ban will then travel to the DR Congo to assess the humanitarian situation there.
