Juba City Council unveils plans to pave feeder roads

Author : | Published: Monday, April 28, 2014

The Juba City Council says it has worked out a plan to pave all major roads leading to residential areas in the town.

Earlier this month, the Council initiated the pavement of public roads in Juba to ease movement of people and goods to the market.

So far, the roads around Jebel and Nyakuron areas have been paved, with exception of the Customs to Rock City roads.

Passengers have been complaining why the city council has not been able to grade the bumpy road which is full of potholes.

The road is the main route to access Rock City and a short-cut to Gudele 1 stage.

“All this things are in our plan; we will implement it all. We will not do it now, but we will make it step by step,” said Festu Abdu-Alaziz, Juba City Council Deputy Mayor.

“We’re now implementing the project according to our plans. We will work on all the roads –especially the feeder roads.”

Mr. Festu said they will grade all the 9 main roads in Juba town.

Among the 9 roads that will be graded are; Giada to Jebel road, Munuki road and Gudele road.
