The administration of Juba Teaching Hospital says it will bury over 40 bodies because the relatives of the deceased have not claimed them.

The hospital says it will proceed with the burial because some of the bodies are decomposing.

“We have unclaimed bodies in the mortuary, majority of them are from UNMISS camps,” the director general of the Juba Teaching Hospital, Dr. Wani Lolik told Eye Radio.

He said some of the bodies have been at the mortuary for the last two weeks.

Dr. Wani hinted that the bodies will be buried in a mass grave in Juba.

“I am forced to do whatever possible to bury these people in whichever way. What we do is just bury them and we are organizing to bury these people today in about forty places.”

Meanwhile, the Indian community in Juba donated about 15,000 South Sudanese Pounds to the Juba Teaching Hospital yesterday.

Dr. Wani Lolik said the funds will be used to clean the hospital and improve the sanitary situation.

Two days ago, the Ugandan forces deployed in South Sudan and the SPLA carried out a cleaning exercise at Juba Teaching Hospital.
