The Government has dismissed allegations that its forces have caused insecurity and massive displacement of people in Unity State.

IGAD had disclosed in a report that the Government Forces launched an offensive on 27 April and captured positions held by opposition forces.

It also accused the government of preventing movement of its monitoring team in Bentiu.

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting Michael Makui Lueth said the report is not credible.

He said: “And in those statements they said that they got the credible reports, we don’t know how they got the credible reports if their personnel are not allowed to go outside.”

The UN and other international agencies had also reported violations by government including the killing of civilians, the burning of houses and cattle raiding.
