The community of Guar village in Koch County of Unity State says their crops have been destroyed after about 200 farms were heavily flooded.

The community also says animals are also finding it difficult to get grazing land.

The people in the area fear that they will go hungry this year. They also fear disease outbreak due to the flooding.

The head of community in Guar village, Kuony Kan, says they tried to control the water by building dykes, but the level of flooding is very high.

He says the community lack clean and safe drinking water since all boreholes have been submerged under water, forcing the residents of the area to drink in the river.

Mr. Kan urged the International Rescue Committee working in the area to help contain the situation by digging boreholes for the community.
