Members of Parliament in Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly have today elected a new speaker.

The former chief whip, Tobiolo Alberto, is the newly elected speaker.

He has succeeded Honorable Emmanuel Ambrose Ocholimoi, who died early this year.

The acting speaker of the Assembly, Paul Napwon, says all the MPs unanimously endorsed Honorable Tobiolo Alberto to be the new speaker of the house.

“… definitely it is declared that this is somebody who has succeeded or who has passed numinously.  So as we all know, the whole parliament has unanimously blessed honorable Tobiolo is going to become the next speaker.” Alberto said.

The new speaker, Tobiolo Alberto, says he will work together with the MPs and the executive to serve the people of Easter Equatoria State.

“I will be cooperating with everybody and cooperate with the executive and all those who love this state as their home and we shall continue to advocate for peace.” The new Speaker said.
