Armed raiders killed at least one person and wounded four others during a cattle raid in Duk County of Jonglei state.

The Duk County Commissioner said that the cattle raiders allegedly from Uror County attacked Pajut Payam in Duk County and stole over 500 heads of cattle and goats.

Commissioner Elijah Mochnhom said houses were also burnt in the attack.

“They have destructed a clinic and school,” Mr. Mochnhom added.

“The police, wildlife and the prison plus the army who came here to control the situation got attacked, so, they withdrew their forces back to Mareng.
