Civil Society: The peace process is slow

Author : | Published: Saturday, September 6, 2014

Civil society organizations participating in the peace dialogue in Addis Ababa say the process is slow.

“So many people expected us to come back with peace but then what has happened is that, what we came up with is a partial peace,” said Rita Martin, the director of Eve Organization and a civil society representative at the talks.
“I think one of the challenges that I would say is that the peace process is very slow.”

Ms Rita says that a peace agreement that addresses the needs of the people may be reached in the next round of the peace talks scheduled for September 14, 2014.

She urged civil society activists to pass correct information to the people.
