Central Equatoria gov’t evaluates state education sector

Central Equatoria governor has launched a two-day workshop to scrutinize the status of the education sector in the state.

The workshop which  commenced Tuesday brought together education officials from the state Ministry of General Education and the counties.

This comes after his recent tour to the six counties of the state.

In his remarks, Governor Adil urged the state education minister to take note of the quality of teachers who are deployed to the schools.

He also expects the ministry to produce data on the number of both public and private schools as well as the teaching staff.

“I called for this workshop to generate an updated report on the status of education in the entire state and to prompt actions from your resolution,” he said.

He also called on state holders and development partners to support the government in its plan to fund-raise for the development of the quality education sector in the state

“I called on all our stakeholders, our partners, the business community, and our sons and daughters within and outside the country to support the state fundraising initiative for the reconstruction and recovery of infrastructure for education development soon to be launched.”

Adil appealed to the public not to politicize the initiative saying education is the basic right of every child.
