South African rapper and songwriter Costa Titch collapsed and died on Saturday during a music performance in Johannesburg, according to local media reports.

In a video footage widely shared on social media, Titch, 27, was in the middle of an energetic performance, when he collapsed on stage.

Then he rose up and continued with the song, before he collapsed again, and died.

There is has been no official confirmation about the incident and the cause of his tragic death remains unknown.

But several South African politicians, artists and celebrities have expressed their condolences, including Julius Sello Malema, a member of the South African parliament.

Costa Titch is a rising South African artist, whose real name is Costa Tsobanoglou.

He recently launched a remix song that featured US singer Akon. His most successful single, Big Flexa, received over 45 million views on YouTube.

He gained fame with the hit song Nkalakatha, which featured AKA and Riky Rick.

All the three artists on the song are now dead after Riky Rick took his own life in February 2022 while AKA was gunned down on 10 February 2023 in Durban on his way to his birthday celebration.
