The police in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State on Thursday arrested a 40-year-old man on accusations that he sexually abused two minors.

Police spokesperson, captain Guot Guot Akol says the suspect allegedly slept with two female minors on different dates.

On February 11, the defendant reportedly defiled an 11-year-old girl in Mudiria residential area in Aweil and threatened to kill her if she speaks out.

Akol says the condition of the survivor deteriorated, prompting her mother to file a defilement case with the police.

“According to the child, this person forced her on date 11th of February, at Mudiria residential area during day time. He slept with her and threatened to kill her if she mentions this thing to anybody.”

“So out of fear, the girl decided to keep quiet about it but her health status revealed everything in the end.”

The official narrated that when the police tried to arrest the prime suspect, he was again found with another 14-year-old girl, whom he allegedly defiled on February 12.

“During the process of his arrest, he was found inside a room with another girl of 14 years trying to rape her. She is the same girl that the man had defiled on date 12, after defiling an 11-year-old on date 11.”

“Meaning he defiled two girls on different dates. So, he was arrested, a case file has been opened and a serious investigation is ongoing.”

Captain Akol also dismissed allegations that the suspect is a foreign trader.
