UN deputy humanitarian chief expected in Juba tomorrow

The United Nations Deputy Humanitarian Chief is visiting South Sudan tomorrow to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in the country.

Kyung- Wha Kang will be in the country for three days to mobilize support to scale up and expand critical aid operations in the conflict affected areas.

“During her three-day mission, ASG Kang is expected to meet with communities affected by the crisis in different parts of the country, as well as senior Government officials and humanitarian partners,” said a press statement.

“She will discuss ways of improving access to those in need and strengthening protection of civilians and aid workers.”

This will be the second visit of the UN Deputy Humanitarian Chief to South Sudan in the past year.
