Interior minister signs memoranda on post-secession issues with Sudan

The government of South Sudan has signed four memorandums of understanding with the government of Sudan in Khartoum.

The four MOUs are on the four freedoms and the re-opening of the border between Sudan and South Sudan, immigration and Customs.

Minister of Interior, Aleu Ayeny Aleu, who signed the M-O-U-s with his Sudanese counterpart in Khartoum yesterday, returned to Juba this morning.

He addressed the media at Juba international Airport upon his arrival.

“We have singed the memorandum of understanding and it is likely going to be endorsed and witnessed by the African Union,” said Mr Aleu.

Mr. Aleu was accompanied to Khartoum by the Director-General for Immigration and passport, Agustino Madut Parek, and a number of businessmen from South Sudan.
