Raja-Wau road is under maintenance, an official has said. Raja town is 210 miles from the state capital, Wau.

The road had been damaged by rains and heavy trucks.

The roadwork is being supported by the local community and the state government.

“We have maintained this road and now it is better than in the past,” Hassan Jalab, County Commissioner, told Eye Radio’s Dawn show.

“The budget for this work was 70,000 pounds which was allocated by the state government. We also received 20,000 pounds contributed by the people.”

The commissioner said cars and trucks now travel between the two towns Wau to Raja.
